New Tafo (E/R), Aug. 23, GNA – The Adonten Community Bank made a net profit of GH¢75,943 last year, the highest profit made so far by the bank.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr Emmanuel Appiah Korang, at the 11th Annual General Meeting of the Bank at New Tafo, at the weekend.
He explained that, the profit made was an increase of 267 per cent over the profit of GH¢20, 685 in 2007.

Tamale, Aug 20, GNA – The Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) is providing a grant of 13 million dollars to the agricultural sector of Ghana.
The amount is out of 400 million dollars set aside to improve agriculture in 13 African countries to make them self sufficient in food production.
Part of the grant is to help train more agricultural officers, improve seedlings, develop new varieties of crops and make them available to farmers and also sponsor agro chemicals shops to deliver chemicals at the door steps of farmers.

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey is being sued for a whopping $1 trillion by author Damon Lloyd Goffe for plagiarism, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has claimed on his website.
Goffe is suing Winfrey and her production company, Harpo, for allegedly stealing material from his work, ‘A Tome of Poetry’ and publishing it under her name with the title ‘Pieces of My Soul’, according to Hilton.
In the legal documents filed in court, Goffe claims that the talk show host admitted to the thievery last year.
